For Squeaky Clean Dishes: Handles Stuck-On Food, Naturally
This triple-action dishwashing detergent uses natural minerals to rinse away baked-on food and stains, no pre-wash needed. Glasses so sparkly and dishes so clean you can eat off them. Literally.
Lemon Scent: Fresh, crisp lemon delivers a light citrusy zing. Like a deep breath of clean.
SAFE & EARTH FRIENDLY INGREDIENTS: There are a lot of “green-washed” products out there. Nantucket Footprint is committed to not being among them. When we set out to make our cleaning formulas we decided to follow a few basic principles:
1. Full ingredient transparency: Our ingredients are all disclosed on our packaging and more details can be found on our website – most household cleaners sold in the USA still don’t disclose ingredients and aren’t required to. We are committed to 100% ingredient transparency for all of our products.
2. “Cosmetic” quality ingredients: There are no strict standards for cleaning product ingredients in the USA so we decided that all of our ingredients needed to not only be on the EPA’s safer choice list, but they must also have the lowest (safest) ratings on the EWG cosmetic database. In addition, none of our ingredients appear on the Suzuki “dirty dozen list” – Our thinking is that products used in your home should have ingredients that would be safe enough to use on your body (they of course aren’t intended for bodies – this was just our standard).
3. Free from harmful chemicals including those that are harmful to people or to the planet - Including Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, phosphates, phthalates, parabens artificial fragrances, triclosan, methylisothiazolinone, and benzisothiazolinone
NO ARTIFICIAL FRAGRANCES Artificial fragrances are a harmful source of household air pollution. When we formulated our products we decided to add just a hint of essential oils to them – they may smell lighter than many of the laundry products you are used to. We decided that this was important for creating a healthy clean with low toxicity. Our Chamomile Laundry Strips are scented only with steam-distilled essential oils.
SUPER EFFECTIVE We guarantee that you will find our laundry detergent strips as effective and easy to use as your current brand of detergent. Unlike soaps, including Castille soap, our detergent will not react with minerals in hard water to create buildup on your clothing. We are so confident you will love our detergent strips that If you are not 100% satisfied with our product and its effectiveness, let us know and we will send you a full refund.
WITH LITTLE FOOTPRINTS IN MIND We chose the Footprint of an endangered owl in the middle of our logo to represent our commitment to our brand ethos. Our goal is to be guided by the mindfulness of little footprints in everything we do:
● We are committed to making products that create the smallest possible ecological footprint and will always strive to improve this.
● We are committed to making products that are safe – including that we put them in child-safe packages so that children are not harmed by eating concentrated cleaning ingredients (there are over 350 hospital admissions in the USA per day from kids eating things like dishwasher and laundry pods)
● We are committed to donating a portion of our profits to environmental organizations that protect oceans and work to combat climate change - we are mindful that the most humble creatures with the smallest footprints are impacted every day by the choices we all make. the smallest footprints are impacted every day by the choices we all make.
You can clean and kill germs without toxic ingredients

Nerd Alert: More Detailed Information On Ingredients:
Our Dish Soap for Handwashing uses Coconut and Sunflower Seed Oils as the base vegetable oils for the soap. This combination gives us a firm bar that lathers and cleans while easily rinsing away.
Sourced from Century Sun Oil out of Pulaski, WI, sunflower oil is a local alternative to the olive oil. We've used sunflower oil in our Bath and Body Soap Bars for a while, as we're excited to bring it to our cleaning products collection.
Sodium Cocoate: This is the chemical name of saponified (that is, 'made into soap') coconut oil. It's the chemical that grabs onto both dirt and water to do the cleaning.
Sodium Sunflowerate: This is the chemical name of the saponified sunflower seed oil.
Glycerin: This substance is chemically a type of alcohol and is naturally created when the oil is converted into soap. Glycerin is known for skin-softening abilities and is an effective solvent, meaning it can dissolve substances such as stains and dirts.
Organic Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil and Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil : There is always some coconut and sunflower seed oils left in the soap after conversion to sodium cocoate and sodium sunflowerate. This is because we use sodium hydroxide, or lye, in the conversion process. Leaving these excess oil in the soap not only ensures there is no remaining lye in the finished product, it also gives the soap its lather and moisturizing feel. Some soapmakers refer to this as 'superfatting' and more oil remaining results in a softer, more moisturizing bar.
Water: Water is used in the soapmaking process as a substance that dissolves lye and then is a medium so the lye can reach all of the oil to react. After being useful in this process, the water is allowed to evaporate from the soap over a period of several weeks, and the resulting dried bar has very little water. There is only about 5% water remaining in the finished bars, thus making them more shelf stable than a liquid soap that would require a preservative due to the high (about 60%) water.

- Sodium Bicarbonate: Also known as baking soda, sodium bicarbonate is an odor neutralizer.
- Sodium Carbonate: Also known as washing soda or soda ash, sodium carbonate is a pH adjuster. It raises the pH of the washing water, which results in more effective cleaning. For this reason it's often referred to as a laundry 'booster'.
- Vegetable Soap:
- Sodium Cocoate: This is the chemical name of saponified (that is, 'made into soap') coconut oil. It's the chemical that grabs onto both dirt and water to do the cleaning.
- Glycerin: This substance is chemically a type of alcohol and is naturally created when the oil is converted into soap. Glycerin is known for skin-softening abilities and is an effective solvent, meaning it can dissolve substances such as stains and dirts.

Some soapmakers refer to this as 'superfatting' and more oil remaining results in a softer, more moisturizing soap. Our coconut soap has only a small amount of excess oil, so it is not the luxurious body type and more of a 'get the job done' soap.
- Water: Water is used in the soapmaking process as a substance that dissolves lye and then is a medium so the lye can reach all of the oil to react. After being useful in this process, the water is allowed to evaporate from the soap over a period of several weeks, and the resulting dried soap has very little water.
